MAKING A BETTER NIGERIA THE SOCIETY OF NIGERIA
The question can Nigeria be made better is a question in the lips of most matured Nigerians. And Yes, Nigeria can be made better than it is now. Nigeria is a country blessed with lots of mineral resources and talented citizens but bad governance and ignorance has dealt with it and rendered it impotent. The major arms causing or leading to the failure of Nigeria includes;
• THE POLITICAL ARM OF GOVERNMENT;
The political arm of government which comprises of the federal, state and local government has failed the whole nation and so, we need ‘New generations of political leaders to take charge of the political sector of Nigeria. Those who will go miles to ensure Nigeria becomes better. Let us start from the president who is the number one citizen of the country; Until we get a leader who is bent on seeing Nigeria progress not one with a selfish reason and one who values religion over the life of the people he swore to protect, we cannot go forward. Nigeria has gotten to a level where we do not need old people who see the younger ones as lazy and useless animals as a leader. We need a young and vibrant person who understands what the younger citizens are passing through and is bent on carrying everyone along.
Let’s site an example with the USA government, the US government understands the importance of importance of their younger citizens that is why they make proper provisions for them immediately after school and make sure that no one is left out except for health reasons or otherwise and they make sure they don’t fill their sectors up with aging people who are too weak to function unlike Nigeria. Nigeria needs a leader who understands the capabilities of his citizens and values their lives and success more than that of animals because the success of the citizens determines the success of the country. One who is able to identify the old faulty traits in Nigeria and work towards amending them not one who is not ready to identify those faulty traits rather, continues to lead us into the darkest part and establishes more faulty traits.
We need a leader who also, has identified his own personal character faults and has dealt with it. This is because, any leader who is still struggling with an old trait within will continue to lead the country in that his old trait and a faulty car can never travel on a far journey without breaking down. We need a leader who will be bent on making Nigeria a productive and exporting country, one who has a critical intellect of generating ideas on ways of making Nigeria a better place. This is because, an intelligent and a wise leader yields great fruits in the country and a foolish leader leads the country to its doom. Until the country starts to produce most of the goods used within the country and also export some of them, the country’s economy cannot not be standard. For instance, our oil sector, our country has been producing just crude oil for many years now and paying huge sum of money to import refined oil when we can actually build up our refineries and make them productive.
Our leaders should cultivate the act of trusting the abilities and capabilities of the young and vibrant citizens i.e. the youths and also encourage in words and in kind not destroy their image internationally. This 2019 election, I urge every adult to get his/her permanent voters card (PVC) to exercise our franchise because it is our voice and weapon. We should learn to avoid previous grievous mistakes and critically elect a righteous leader;
One with human conscience, possesses a merciful heart and patient mind.
One who is satisfied and contented with what he has and not a greedy leader.
One who has identified the traits he/she wants to cultivate in Nigeria.
One who loves the nation like his body.
One who desires the country and her citizens and therefore is determined to make them better.
One who practices what he says or implements his promise to us like we are his
